LinkedIn buys Lynda.com
Lynda.com, a California-based company, has created hundreds of thousands of video tutorials in multiple languages, helping people to learn “software, technology, creative and business skills to achieve personal and professional goals”. We now have our own Learning Management System (LMS) which will shortly be running a small number of courses to demonstrate what can be achieved with a little imagination and a lot of work. Over the next few months we will be developing additional courses and adding them to the LMS, including a course on the America’s Cup 2017
Coursera raises another $43 million
Online education company Coursera is fast becoming an investor’s pet with a new $43 million round of funding. Coursera, which provides hundreds of courses online, said Wednesday it raised the Series B financing from new investors Laureate Education Inc., the World Bank’s investment arm, LearnCapital Venture Partners, GSV Capital and venture capitalist Yuri Milner.
